FDA finalizes ruling to improve access to hearing aids

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) delivered a historic final ruling that could lower the cost of hearing aids for millions of Americans. The decision on Tuesday would allow those with mild to moderate hearing loss to buy hearing aids without a prescription beginning in mid-October.

Biden signs executive order authorizing use of Medicaid to fund out of state abortions

President Joe Biden signed a new executive order in an attempt to to circumvent the Supreme Court over their decision on Roe v. Wade. While speaking virtually in front of other top White House officials on Wednesday, the President signed the order, which authorizes the use of Medicaid funds to help pro-abortion states provide the procedure to women traveling to receive an abortion.

House passes contraceptive rights bill

The House passed the Right to Contraception Act. In a 228-to-195 vote Thursday, lawmakers passed legislation that guarantees the federal right to contraception. Eight Republicans voted in favor of the bill, including Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) , Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) and Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.). Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-Ohio) and Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) took no position on the bill.
